Vocab Builder privacy policy

KoalaSpeak: Vocabulary Builder keeps learning progress on your phone. This page explains what the app stores, where, and what uses the internet.

Last updated: 2026-10-09 Version 1.1

1. Summary

Games, review and pronunciation feedback run on your device after packs are downloaded. Vocab Builder does not need an account.

2. What is stored on your phone

Learner profiles (name and age band), vocabulary progress, streaks, settings and downloaded voice and word packs. This data stays in the app’s storage on the device.

3. Microphone

The app asks for microphone access for the Pronunciation game. Speech is processed on the device for scoring feedback. You can skip speaking games if you prefer.

4. Features that use the internet

Downloading voice and word packs needs an internet connection. Ads for adult profiles (Google AdMob) and the Remove ads purchase check use the network. Your practice audio and word answers are not sent to Melipy servers.

5. Ads and purchases

Adult (18+) profiles may see ads served by Google AdMob: an occasional full-screen ad after you finish a session, and an optional ad you can choose to watch for one extra hint letter. Profiles under 18, or with no age set, never see ads. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent with Google's consent form before any ad is requested; you can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy options. Ad requests are non-personalized. Google may collect device identifiers, approximate location (from the IP address) and ad interactions for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention, as described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Your profiles, learning progress and age band are never shared with Google. A one-time Remove ads purchase turns off all ads and is verified with Apple or Google; we do not create a Melipy account for it.

6. Children and profiles

You can create up to 4 local profiles. Profiles under 18 do not see ads. Parents are responsible for who uses the device.

7. Deleting your data

See the data deletion page for step-by-step instructions.
