Does KoalaSpeak work offline?
Chat, practice and games run on your phone after the voice and language data has been downloaded. News radio, weather and downloads need an internet connection.
Why does the app download data?
The voices and the language model live on your phone. The app downloads them once per voice and shows the size before starting. Wi‑Fi recommended.
Does Kilo remember me?
Memory between conversations is off by default. You can turn it on in Settings → Memory and clear all conversation history there.
Is KoalaSpeak suitable for children?
Profiles under 18 hide companion characters. Creating or opening an 18+ profile needs a parental PIN.
Which languages does the app support?
The interface comes in 10 languages: English, Tiếng Việt, Español, Português (Brasil), Français, Deutsch, 简体中文, 日本語, العربية and हिन्दी. Practice is always in English.
Replies feel slow on my phone
Choose Quick in Settings → My phone. Expressive voices need more power.
Can I use it without the microphone?
Yes. Tap the keyboard button to chat by typing. Your friend still answers out loud unless you turn speech off.
How do I delete my data?
All data lives on your phone. Follow the steps on the data deletion page.
